Barley Harvest 2017

The past few days have seen us complete our barley harvest for this year. Despite an extremely wet start to the growing season, which prevented us getting onto the paddock to apply a pre-emergence spray to prevent grass & weeds from infiltrating the crop, the harvest came away cleaner than expected and higher yielding than predicted. We've transferred the barley into silo on farm where it will sit until we begin to drip feed out of it into our yet to be built maltings. Connecting the brewing process with the agricultural supply chain is incredibly important throughout the craft brewing industry, and to be able to achieve this ourselves - on-farm - is an incredibly rewarding process, which is where we emphasize - brewing from the ground up.
